Hey Darrick here,

Before we go into the Best Mage Leveling Spec I made this simple overview for all you beginners out their on what you should expect from a Mage if you chose to play one.

The Mage is one of the most powerful spellcaster which can do great damage and crowd control to the targets. They have three talents trees  Arcane, Frost and Fire, I recommend trying all of them out to get a feel of which one you like best for your Mage leveling build. Mages are known to be the best AoE (Area of Effect) class in the game, there are many powerful ways of leveling with this technique and there are tutorials all over YouTube. They have many Crowd Control abilities such as Frost nova, Polymorph, Silence, Freeze etc.

One of the cons when trying out a Mage leveling spec, as with all other casters mostly is there low health and armor, this is because the mage is a cloth-only class which does great damage but dies easily. That doesn’t mean your going to die every time you attack someone, it just means your going to have to be a bit more careful trying not to get hit.. Also you have a lot of spells to keep people away when your needing extra time. Like Frost Nova, Polymorph, and Silences for casters.

The best Mage spec for leveling is a pure damage dealing class, but because of the great Crown Control it’s always accepted to instances, raids and arena teams. Mages can teleport from to every city within its own faction, and also teleport other players there which means you can sell portals to people in need, 5-10 gold is what most people pay. And because they can create a food/mana table, this alone can get you invited to a raid because most people are too lazy to buy their own food.

This is also great for when you’re leveling. You can teleport to the different cities and won’t have to fly like other classes, this will save you loads of time that can be spent on leveling your character instead. You will never have to worry about buying food ever again if you roll a mage.

There are several of useful buffs for the Best Mage Leveling Spec that you can give to either yourself or other players, Increased intellect, less spell damage received, higher damage done, higher critical strike chance etc.

Mage Lore

Mages are found all around the world of Azeroth. Most of their great magic surrounds around arcanist skills, most of the time their spells are to destroy their enemies and support their allies. One of their greatest spells is the ability to conjure regular animals that become super monsters. While many decide to be just normal Mages, other decide to be arcane to bound their enemies to the ground.  The next thing a Mage can be ischoose either evocation or transmutation as a preferred spec, and casts spells from his chosen school. The mages of the Kirin Tor begin mastering the powers of frost and inferno. They also have the ability to summon every kind of elementals from the plains of Azeroth. Nobody truly know if the greatest Mage of them all, Queen Ashara is still mortal or not.
